Cozumel is a tourist destination island cruise port specifically created for that purpose. There are THIRTEEN SHIPS in port today, nine at our location, and four more around a bend in the beach. It's not quite accurate to say that there are more Americans than Mexicans here right now, but it's not much of a stretch. This is a gateway to the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza and Tulum, but we weren't up for the adventure. We walked the plank and through the gauntlet of souvenir shops, past Señor Frog's, the Hard Rock Cafe, and Margaritaville, and then got right back onboard the ship.
